PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video intercom system in which shading distortion which occurs in imaged video is corrected. SOLUTION: The video intercom system has a configuration composed of an image pickup means 111 for picking up an image to create video data, a correction information storage means 112 for storing, in advance, correction information for correcting the shading distortion of video resulting from the video data, a distortion correcting means 116 for correcting the shading distortion of video by converting picture information of the video data based upon the correction information, and a video signal transmitting means 118 for transmitting the video data corrected by the distortion correcting means.
