PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a precise centering device for an NMR sample tube which obtains optimum results even for a sample tube in the shape of a measuring capillary which needs high centering precision. SOLUTION: The centering device for centering the sample tube 8 comprises at least two centering means and a positioning means. The centering means, which are spaced apart from each other in the direction of the axis of a receiving coil axis and act on the sample tube 8 solely in the radial direction, comprises one centering means placed on the upper side area 9a and the other centering means placed on the lower side areas 9b, 9b' of an NMR receiving coil system 9a-k. The positioning means, which is placed on the lower side 20a or upper side 17 of the NMR receiving coil system, acts on the sample tube 8 solely in the axial direction. Each centering means 9a, 9b, 9b' which radially acts on the sample tube 8 constitutes the NMR receiving coil system 9a-k. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
