PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simulating the operating behavior of a vehicle on a test stand on which an engine (1) of the vehicle is connected to an electronic controllable braking device (2) on the test stand, wherein a first simulation model (5) calculates a valuable simulation value indicating the operating conditions of the vehicle, the reaction of the vehicle against the behavior of the engine and a valuable value measured just before are calculated, and at least one evaluation variable (w) is calculated based on a value measured on the test stand for a measurable valuable such as an engine speed and an engine torque and a value calculated therefrom using a first simulation model for a variable which cannot be measured such as a vehicle speed (V), which can reproduce a suddenly-occurring phenomenon and a high frequency phenomenon. SOLUTION: In another simulation model (9), the high frequency change is calculated from a measurable valuable, superposed onto an actual measurement value, and is considered in the calculation of evaluation valuables.
