PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform hysteresis error compensation even with respect to load cells having various characteristics. SOLUTION: This apparatus detects a turning point at which the output signal of a load cell which produces a hysteresis error according to the history of a load between a zero point and a maximum load, changes from increase to decrease or vice versa, and generates an approximate error function which has a characteristic approximate to a hysteresis error characteristic, and uses as an argument an output signal which changes to the zero point or maximum load depending on the direction of the turning. The hysteresis error of the load cell is corrected by the approximate error function. As for the approximate error function, a region where the output signal to be the argument exists is divided into two or more regions, and two or more approximate error functions which correspond to individual sections are formed.
