PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf device improved in its usability by vertically moving a shelf height position by simple and easy operation even when its installation position in a refrigerating compartment is high, and improving its effective volumetric efficiency by excluding the influence on lower shelves, and to provide a refrigerator comprising the shelf device. SOLUTION: This shelf device is configurated with a fixed rail 7 mounted at a predetermined height position of a storage part side wall face, a movable rail 8 horizontally slidable in the fixed rail, a front arm 9 and a rear arm 10 rotatably journaled in a state of being separated from a base face of the movable rail, a shelf support 11 pivoted on two points adjacent to tips of the front arm and the rear arm for connecting the front and rear arms at both sides, and a shelf container 6 placed on the shelf support. The shelf container is moved forward by the movable rail, and vertically movable by the rotation of the front and rear arms while being kept in a horizontal state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
