The storage tank (10) has an insulation mantle (20) of a compressed insulation material tightly against the tank wall (11). The insulation mantle is covered by an external fixed shell layer (30), with the end edges clamped together by a closure (40). The end edges of the shell are bent into hook bars (41), to form a groove (42) on the side away from the gap between the edges. The closure has one or more clips (45) with sections (46) to engage the grooves formed in the shell edges, and hold them together. The clips can be released with or without a tool. |
