<p>The exercise machine comprises an abdominally mounted mechanism to facilitate a pulling motion, a position sensor (9, fig 2) and an electro muscular stimulation device (8, fig 2) which is responsive to feedback from the sensor. Preferably the machine includes an abdominal rest 1, a carriage 3 mounted on slide rail 2 which may be pulled towards the user by means of handles 4 and a return spring 7. Electrical pads 6 may be mounted on the abdominal rest 1. The pulling motion may be assisted by a motor (10, fig 2) which is responsive to the exercise rhythm and/or position sensor.</p> |
