PURPOSE: A device for automatically opening/closing a rear shelf for a vehicle is provided to reduce noise and to prevent a rope from being cut by automatically opening/closing the rear shelf according to the opening/closing of a trunk door. CONSTITUTION: A device for automatically opening/closing a rear shelf(20) is composed of a rack gear(60) coupled to the lower front of the rear shelf and guiding the movement of the rear shelf, a supporter installed at the bottom of the rear shelf and supporting the rear shelf, a panel(55) extended from the supporter downward, and a drive unit(70) installed at the top of the panel. The drive unit includes an outer housing having a space, and a driving gear engaged with the rack gear and moving the rack gear.
