DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING MOTORCYCLE FRAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for assembling a motorcycle frame. SOLUTION: This assembly device is provided with a conveyor 22 for setting a path for a process and a pallet 20 movable along the conveyor through a work station and supported by a movable section of the conveyor. The pallet supports the rotatable frames 18a, 18b receiving each component or sub assemblies 11a, 11b in a relation being mutually fixed by a structure fixing device. The angular positions of the frames and the structure fixing device are reoriented about a rotary axis by engaging with a drive motor. The frames are locked in an angular direction to the pallet until they are released by engagement with a lock release actuator. A movable section can be operated responding to an actuator of the drive motor and guided between an raised position and a lowered position against the work station. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
