PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a yield rate of a flint-type lighter by reducing a defective fraction caused by the inclination of a tank upper lid assembly fitted and welded to an opening end of a long tank body having an approximately oval cross-section. SOLUTION: In this flint-type lighter configurated by a bottomed cylindrical tank body 20 storing the liquid fuel, and the tank upper lid assembly 30 fitted to the opening end part 23 of the tank body 20 and welded by ultrasonic wave, a fitting depth L of the tank body 20 for fitting the tank upper lid assembly 30 is determined to be at least 15 mm. Preferably, the fitting depth L is determined to be 15 mm to 25 mm. By applying this fitting depth L, an inclination of a shaft of the tank upper lid assembly 30 fitted to the opening end part 23 of the tank body 20 becomes less than 0.4°, and the defective fraction can be improved.
