COMPOSITE METAL ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MAKING

A composite metal article (558) from two dissimilar metals is prepared. A metal base (510) is comprised of a first metal and having first and second opposing surfaces and a lest one longitudinally-positioned depression (530,535)in each if the first and second opposing surfaces fur receiving a wire (520,525). An elongated metal element (520,525) comprised of a second metal is introduced into each of the at least one first and second depressions (530,535) of the metal base (510) to form a composite assembly (545), and the composite assembly (545) is heated under pressure to urge the adjacent surfaces of the second metal elements (520,525) and the depressions (530,535) together to form a bonded article (558).
