PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a doctor blade with extremely little wear and deterioration and good concordance to a printing cylinder, and a method for manufacturing it. SOLUTION: The doctor blade for scraping and removing an ink by being brought into contact with the printing cylinder, has a highly wear-resistant DLC (diamond-like carbon) film layer on the surface of a blade base material. A cylinder butting face is formed of the DLC film layer and an exposed face of the matrix at the apex part of the butting part. In another way, the highly wear-resistant DLC film layer and a soft DLC film layer with a lower wear resistance than the hard DLC film layer are provided on the surface of an ink scraping side of the blade base material.
