PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardening apparatus using laser beam with which a track member having a plurality of lines of ball rolling grooves mutually receiving heat affect is irradiated with a suitable laser beam. SOLUTION: The track member 6 having the plurality of lines of ball rolling grooves 6a, 6b mutually receiving the heat affect is laid on a working table 9. Two lines of ball rolling grooves 6a, 6b are simultaneously irradiated with the two laser beams from a laser beam generating apparatus 11 and a spectroscope system 14. Two laser beams are relatively shifted in the longitudinal direction of the ball rolling grooves 6a, 6b to perform hardening of the ball rolling grooves 6a, 6b. In the cross section orthogonal to the beam axis of the laser beam, the length L of the irradiated shape with the laser beam in the longitudinal direction of the ball rolling grooves 6a, 6b, is set longer than the length W in the direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction.
