PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium capable of utilizing a supporting body of low thermal resistance without being restricted on thermal resistance of the supporting body, and having a high coercive force Hc. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer containing magnetic particles of CuAu type or Cu<SB>3</SB>Au type hard magnetic regular phase on the supporting body, a low melting point metallic layer containing a metal having a melting point of≤650°C to be closely adhered to at least one surface of the magnetic layer.
