The flat hollow cavity (4) open towards the slide side of the sneck (2). The hollow cavity (4) is partly open towards the front edge (9) of the sneck which defines the cavity. A first part of the hollow cavity tapers with a first base surface parallel with the outer slope of the sneck. A second part of the hollow cavity has a second base surface parallel with the slide side of the sneck. Both base surfaces form a tilting edge (6) along their contact line. One or other end of a rocker in the hollow cavity protrudes out of the slide side of the sneck. The housing (1) of the mortise lock has an opening (3) on the slide surface on which the sneck slides, larger than the base surfaces of the hollow cavity which are covered by it.
