PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 8, 9-didehydronootkatone useful as a flavor and a fragrant perfume material and to obtain a 2-alkoxynootkatene (represented by formula 1 and formula2) being a new synthetic raw material for the above compound. SOLUTION: 8, 9-Didehydronootkatone is produced by dehydrogenative oxidation of the 2-alkoxynootkatene represented by formula (1) and formula (2) (R is a 1-4C lower alkyl group). COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
