PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front panel assembly for a disc drive with a door lock means and the disc drive equipped with this. SOLUTION: In the disc drive which comprises a spindle motor to rotate the disc, a pickup unit to access the disc, a main unit with a tray mounted with the disc for loading and unloading and the front panel assembly arranged on front side of the main unit through which the tray can be ejected and retracted, the front panel assembly comprises the front panel equipped with a gateway for the tray to be ejected and retracted with the disc mounted on, the door arranged on the front panel free to operate so that the gateway opens and closes as the tray is ejected and retracted, an elastic component to apply elasticity to the door in the direction of locking the gateway, and the door lock means to allow or block the door selectively to be operated synchronizing with ejecting and retracting operation for the tray.
