PURPOSE: A TFT(Thin Film Transistor) LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to minimize stepped difference between a pixel electrode and a TFT. CONSTITUTION: A gate electrode(202) is formed on a substrate(200). An insulation film(204) is formed on the gate electrode(202). An amorphous silicon layer(206) is formed on the insulation film(204). An extrinsic silicon layer(208) is formed on the amorphous silicon layer(206). A source electrode(210) and a drain electrode(212) are formed on the extrinsic silicon layer(208) and a part of the insulation film(204). A protection layer(214) is formed to cover the source electrode(210), the drain electrode(212) and the amorphous silicon layer(206). The protection layer(214) has a contact hole(216) formed in a position which is not overlapped with the gate electrode(202). A pixel electrode(218) is connected with the drain electrode(212) through the contact hole(216).
