Disclosed is a tricyclic amide compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof, which are an active substance of the pharmaceutical composition. The said tricyclic amide compound is used for inhibiting the abnormal growth of cells, for inhibiting farnesyl protein transferase and for treating cancers.
