PURPOSE: A rotary compressor is provided to prevent wear of a rotating shaft and a lubrication part contacting with the rotating shaft, in restarting the rotary compressor by making oil remain in the rotating shaft when the rotary compressor is in a stop state. CONSTITUTION: A rotary compressor has a casing forming a closed vessel; a cylinder(7) installed inside the casing, to give a space for compression of gas; a rotating shaft(4) passed through the cylinder; an eccentric cam(5) formed integrally with the rotating shaft and disposed inside the cylinder; and a roller(6) disposed to the outer peripheral surface of the eccentric cam, to rotate along the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder and compress gas. A hollow part(4a) is formed to the rotating shaft, to make oil, stored to the lower part of the casing, rise along the rotating shaft. An oil cap(20) is installed to the lower end of the rotating shaft, to make oil smoothly flow into the hollow part.
