<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stereoscopic display of a high grade with a stereoscopic display device of an intensity modulation type and to make its size smaller and its configuration simpler. <P>SOLUTION: The stereoscopic display device 2 for displaying stereoscopic images from the image data and distance data obtained by a photographic device is provided with a first display device 11, a second display device 12, an image reproducing section 31, a display image section 32, a distance information section 33, a synchronizing signal section 34, an intensity modulation section 35, etc. At least the device 11 is formed of a device, such as an EL (electroluminescence) which displays images by spontaneous light emission and whose panel itself has light transparency. The object image desired to be displayed nearer an observer when viewed from the observer is made higher in the luminance of the device 11 than the luminance of the device 12 and conversely the image desired to be displayed more distant from the observer when viewed from the observer is made lower in the luminance of the device 11 than the luminance of the device 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
