PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical amplifier reduced in the number of parts and a cost. SOLUTION: The optical amplifier is provided with a light non-reciprocity element 100, installed at the center of a cabinet 190, three sets of collimators 112, 116, 150 which are arranged so as to be opposed to the light non-reciprocity element 100, a band path filter 114 arranged between the collimator 112 and the light non-reciprocity element 100, and an amplifying fiber or an EDF 140. Exiting light from the collimator 150 is obliquely impinged into the light non-reciprocity element 100 and is reflected by the band path filter 114, then, is composed with a signal light from the collimator 112 and is impinged into the EDF 140 whereby the signal light is amplified. In this case, the light non-reciprocity element 100 functions as an isolator for the signal light and the exciting light, further, the light non-reciprocity element 100 is provided with a function to compose the signal light and the exiting light.
