FIELD: railway transport; freight cars. SUBSTANCE: proposed sliding roof of freight car contains guides installed on upper bindings of side walls with tilting in longitudinal vertical plane in one and other side opposite to said side on which roof sections 5, 6 are installed for moving on roller support and section drives. Guides are rigidly mounted on outer and inner sides of car walls lengthwise. At least one lower section 6 of roof is mounted on guides tilted to one side and installed parallel to guide on which it is mounted. At least one upper section 5 of roof is mounted on guide tilted to other side and installed parallel to lower section of roof. Each roof section displacement drive contains cable 7 one end of which is secured on one end face wall of car and is made for interaction with lifting mechanism.
