PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display correct colors even if a display device is viewed at a bevel angle. SOLUTION: The illustrated display device is provided with two light modulating layers C1, C2 and is designed to display colors by properly moving charged floating particles 15, 22. When this device is viewed right in front, the upper and lower pixels look superimposed, showing correct color display. When this device is viewed obliquely, the upper and lower pixels do not look superimposed. However, in the boundary part of each pixel, a light reflecting film 8 is formed and designed to prevent light from entering other pixels, preventing the pixels from being affected by adjacent pixels.
