PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape slack preventing method on a production line for an extrusion-coated filament material to prevent a tape slack caused by twisting of a filament material, by compensating the twist of the filament material which occurs on the production line for the extrusion-coated filament material. SOLUTION: In the method to prevent the slack of the tape on the production line for the extrusion-coated filament material to produce the extrusion-coated filament material 52B by extrusion-coating an insulating material on the periphery of an filament material 52A formed by winding a tape on the periphery of a cable core, the diameter of the filament material 52A is measured by a measuring means 53 right before extrusion-coating the insulating material, and the measured value is controlled by a control means 60 so as to havea prescribed value by applying a twist to the filament material 52A or to the extrusion-coated filament material 52B by a twist applying means 54.
