摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation method of a phosphoric acid fuel cell for raising its temperature to the operating temperature without an additional provision. <P>SOLUTION: Hydrogen gas (fuel gas) and air (oxygen-containing gas) are supplied to a cathode side electrode 26, and the hydrogen gas and the air react each other, before generating power with the phosphoric acid fuel cell 10. The reaction is generated under the condition that phosphoric acid density determined by equilibrium between quantity of generated water (liquid water) by the reaction which reduces the phosphoric acid density and quantity of water which evaporates out of the phosphoric acid, is equal or higher than the specific phosphoric acid density which can maintain desired performance. Concretely, the air is supplied under controlling its flow rate when necessary under control action of an operation system 102 of saturated vapor pressure of the phosphoric acid.
