PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide moisture-absorbing and -desorbing fibers suitable particularly for synthetic fibers having comfortableness in wearing because of excellent moisture-absorbing and -desorbing properties. SOLUTION: The fibers comprise a moisture-absorbing and -desorbing polyester composition containing 1-20 wt.% of moisture-absorbing and -desorbing silica-based inorganic particles having a mean particle diameter, a specific surface area, a pore volume, a hygroscopicity parameter (▵MR) and the number of reactive hydroxy groups each in a specified range.
