PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal ceramic joined body which can improve productivity by decreasing position shift defects of components and prevent joining defects when a semiconductor etc. is mounted, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the metal ceramic joined body which forms a metal plate 12 in specified pattern after joining the metal plate 12 directly with a ceramic substrate 10, a specified part on the metal plate 10 is coated with a resist 14 after the metal plate 12 is joined directly with the ceramic substrate 10, an unnecessary part of the metal plate 12 is removed by etching, and then the resist 14 is removed to form the pattern in a specified shape.
