<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deposition of dust on the surface of a reflection type light valve. <P>SOLUTION: The back face of a reflection type light valve 107G is fixed to the grooves of a back cooling member 107G-3, while a light shielding member 108G-5 is disposed with a dust-proof sheet 108G-6 interposed on the front face of the light valve. Further, a dust-proof cover 108G-3 is disposed between the light shielding member 108G-5 and a polarization beam splitter 106G where light from the light valve 107G enters, so as to produce a dust-proof structure in the space between the front face of the light valve 107G and the polarization beam splitter 106G. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
