摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively improve emission property by rapidly increasing injection pressure of fuel at the time of cranking performed in starting an engine. <P>SOLUTION: This control device has a cylinder identifying means 70 for identifying a cylinder in starting the engine. A high pressure pump 26 has a pressurizing means 54 for pressurizing fuel in a pump chamber 53, a suction valve 55 for opening and closing a fuel suction section 51 of the pump chamber 53, and a solenoid 60 for driving the suction valve 55 in the closing direction to control the discharge amount of the fuel. The control device has a high pressure pump controlling means 73 for setting a non-conduction time so as to intermittently make the solenoid 60 into a conduction state by performing start-time control of the high pressure pump 26 and so as to prevent the suction valve 55 from coming into an opening state during the non-conduction time of the solenoid 60, after starting the engine, from a time before the cylinder identification until the fuel pressure in the pump chamber 53 becomes a preset reference pressure after the cylinder identification. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
