FIELD: forest ecology and forest industry, in particular, ecological monitoring of territory by modifying properties of standing trees and certification of standing tree wood. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing slots on both sides of trunk or branch of standing tree, with ends of slots extending in parallel with one another in axially aligned relationship and in symmetry with respect to longitudinal axis of trunk or branch.
