The transmission unit (1), e.g. for a propeller (14), has a housing (2) able to tilt about an axis (B-B) perpendicular to the propeller's axis of rotation (A-A) in a rigid fixed support (18) with plain bearings (19). Each bearing has a fixed member (20) on each side (17) of the support, a pivoting member (21) and a wear ring (22) with a cylindrical section (22a) and a radial collar (22b) projecting outwards from it. One of the bearings has a clearance take-up mechanism with an annular piston in a chamber fed with a pressure fluid and applying a thrust against the wear ring's radial collar. |
