PURPOSE: A beverage containing the extract of seaweeds, walleye pollack, onion, bean sprouts, dropwort and onion is provided. The beverage exhibits high activity of alcohol dehydrogenase and is thus used as a beverage for reducing a hangover. CONSTITUTION: Seaweeds, walleye pollack, onion, bean sprouts, dropwort and onion are extracted in water, concentrated and then dried to produce a beverage. For an example, water soluble fractions of seaweeds, walleye pollack, onion, bean sprouts, dropwort and onion exhibit alcohol dehydrogenase activity of 95.4%, 110.5%, 125.7%, 104.9%, 96.6% and 87.6%. As a result, the water soluble factions greatly promote the alcohol dehydrogenase activity compared to an organic fraction thereof.
