摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain, by applying compression and heating, an oxidation-exothermic metal having a metallic characteristic as a formed body and a characteristic of hardly absorbing moisture. <P>SOLUTION: An oxidation-exothermic metal is obtained by depositing aluminum thin film on the surface of a formed body by using a manufacturing method comprising the steps of: compressing a powder mixture of aluminum of 8 to 200 mesh grain size with iron oxide at a ratio of 20 to 30% aluminum under a pressure of≥200 MPa in an atmosphere of air or inert gas; and heating the compressed powder mixture at the temperature of 600 to 700°C. The oxidation-exothermic metal has a specific gravity of≥4 g/cm<SP>3</SP>and generates a temperature of≥2,000°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
