A convex portion (11) having a projected height exceeding the bore of a shie ld tube (4a) is formed on the tip portion outer periphery of a hub (2) in which a needle (1) is installed. In the inner wall of the shield tube, a gate groove (12a) extending from the tip to the vicinity of the rear end of the inner wa ll is formed, and the gate groove has at its tip end a dimension where the conv ex portion can be fitted. The hub is swingable with respect to the shield tube with the convex portion being exposed from the tip of the shield tube. When the hub is swung to a position where the convex portion is not opposed to th e tip of the gate groove, the hub is prevented from moving to the shield tube rear end side by the engagement between the convex portion and the end face of the shield tube tip. When the hub is swung to a position where the convex portion is opposed to the tip of the gate groove, the convex portion is slidable in the gate groove, so that the tip of the needle tube can be received in the shield tube by moving the hub. The needle tube, in a project ed state where punctuation is possible, is not movable in to a mis-punctuation prevention shield and is swingable.
