摘要 This invention uses Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Fabrics to completely and specially formulated waterproof epoxies to repair and strengthen concrete walls and slabs The result of the use of this combined material is to seal the cracks and ad d tension strength to the walls and slabs thereby eliminating possible reopening of th e cracks. This in turn reduces the overall cost of future repairs to the existing building due to failure of the concrete foundation. The process of using this invention is as follows: First cleaning the crack, applying a prime coat of special waterproof epoxy, and then laying up a strip of saturated FRP fabric along the entire crack. The prescribed number of layers of FRP Fabric needed to repair the crack will depend on the extent of weakness in the structure caused by the crack. The manufacturing process will produce 6-inch wide strips of glass fabric woven bi- directionally or unidirectionally and producing specially formulated epoxies to saturate the fabric and prime the cracked area. The finished product will provide external reinforcement to the wall or slab increasing its tensile strength. The advantage of this system will be to reduce the cost of repeatedly using epoxy compounds that do not maintain their crack plugging capabilities for any reasonable lengthof time thereby reducing the long-term cost of crack repair.
