摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a PDP and a PDP capable of solving various problems arising in forming a discharge inert film by a screen printing method by restraining remarkable increase of the minimum sustaining pulse voltage. SOLUTION: The discharge inert film 22 is made of an aggregate of fine particles not substantially containing any inorganic binder. Each of sustain discharge electrodes XB and YB includes a plurality of discharge gap adjoining parts (a), a bus part (b) and a plurality of bridge-building parts (c). The bus part (a) adjoins the electrode pair gap part NG, extending along a second direction D2. Each of bridge-building parts (c) extends towards a discharge gap part DG. The bridge-building parts (c) are connected to the adjoining parts (a), respectively, and these adjoining parts (a) adjoin the gap part DG and are arranged therealong. The film 22 is so disposed as not to cover the adjoining parts (a). When surface discharge is generated between the sustain discharge electrodes X and Y during a reset period, the potential difference between the electrodes X and Y is gradually increased.
