PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image preserving method for registering an image such as a photographed image, an acquired image and a formed image associated with a sensitivity expressing keyword in a database as a registered image, a registered image retrieving method and a system for efficiently retrieving the image suitable for sensitivity expression from the registered image, an image processing method of the registered image for applying image processing suited to the inputted sensitivity expression and a program for executing these methods. SOLUTION: When preserving the image by preparing the database for previously recording and preserving a pattern of an image scene and a sensitivity expressing keyword associated with this pattern, the pattern as the image scene is determined by extracting a scene in this image, and the sensitivity expressing keyword is derived by referring to the database by using this determined pattern, and this derived sensitivity expressing keyword is associated as ancillary information on the image, and the image is preserved as the registered image to attain this purpose.
