PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic polymer having excellent colorless transparency, heat resistance, moldability and stability during retention; to provide a method for producing the thermoplastic polymer; and to provide a molded product comprising the thermoplastic polymer. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic polymer contains a glutaric anhydride unit represented by the formula (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are the same or different and each a hydrogen atom or a 1-5C alkyl group), and has≤0.5 absorbance at 280 nm wave length (the absorbance is the value measured by using 100μm thick film and a spectrophotometer for ultraviolet and visible region), and≥130°glass transition temperature.
