<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the data quantity of DCH (Dedicated Channel) in a WCDMA (Wide band Code Division Multiple Access) UTRAN (Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network) system. <P>SOLUTION: In the WCDMA UTRAN system, a plurality of Nodes B 3, 4 each performing communication with UE (User Equipment) 5 through the Uu point are each connected to RNC (Radio Network Controller) 2 for performing communication with CN 1 through the Iu point. In the system using a normal mode or a silent mode for the uplink DCH toward the RNC from each Node B and the normal mode for the downlink DCH toward each Node B from the RNC, a semi-normal mode is provided. In the semi-normal mode, the Node B does not transmit data to the UE when receiving No Data frame from the RNC, and transmits the No Data frame in every plural TTIs (Transmission Timing Interval) when not receiving data from the UE. In the semi-normal mode, the RNC does not transmit data to the CN when not receiving data from the Node B, and transmits the No Data frame to the Node B in the every plural TTIs when not receiving data from the CN. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
