PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lap resistance welding machine for adequately setting not only a large number of welding and working conditions but also a mode of a welding current only by inputting, before the welding, at least the nature of the material and the thickness of a workpiece to be welded. SOLUTION: The welding current is supplied to a pair of welding electrodes for pressing overlapped workpieces W and supplying currents to the workpieces via a transformer 12. A power converter 14 is provided on the primary side of the transformer 12 to convert and control the welding current. Further, a timer to send time signals to this power converter 14 and supply the welding current and a programmable controller linked to a higher rank of the timer are provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
