PURPOSE: Provided is a method for identifying a Bifidobacterium strain using the molecular biological method, particularly RFLP pattern analysis. The Bifidobacterium strain is useful for fermented food products, such as yogurt and the like. CONSTITUTION: A method for identifying a Bifidobacterium strain comprises the steps of: preparing complementary cDNA to 16S rRNA of a separated Bifidobacterium strain; digesting the complementary cDNA by the treatment of a restriction enzyme selected from the group consisting of EcoRI, HindIII and CfoI; and analyzing each pattern of the digested DNA fractions. |
