PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing sludge of insulating oil is provided to effectively remove sludge from insulating oil used in an electrical discharge machine and easily perform cleaning operation on a sludge filtering equipment used for a long time. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for filtering insulating oil circulated through an electrical discharge machine, the insulating oil filtering apparatus comprises a filtration vessel(10b) in which insulating oil discharged from the electrical discharge machine is introduced; filter tanks(20a,20b) for filtering the insulating oil introduced in the filtration vessel; a circulation vessel(10a) in which the insulating oil filtered in the filter tanks is stored before the insulating oil is supplied to the electrical discharge machine; and a retreatment equipment (A) for retreating sludge remained in the filter tanks, wherein the retreatment equipment (A) comprises a sludge tank(50) for storing sludge supplied from the filter tanks, a filtering mesh which is positioned at a lower part of the sludge tank, and through which insulating oil passes to filter sludge descended from the sludge tank, a sludge collection tank(40) for collecting the sludge filtered by the filtering mesh, and a leaked oil tank for collecting insulating oil sprayed to clean the filtering mesh.
