PURPOSE: An automatic wiper device is installed to operate wiper automatically without hindering sight of a driver. CONSTITUTION: A fixed focus camera(3) is installed toward a front window in the ceiling of the inside of the automobile. A comparator(4) is mounted to operate a wiper motor(5) by comparing and processing image signal of the fixed focus camera. The lens of the fixed focus camera is arranged toward front moving direction. When the lucidity of the image captured by the fixed focus camera is below the standard, the wiper motor is operated.
