The mobile telephone (2) has a video display screen (1). The quality measurement system has a video camera (3) which is aimed at the screen. The uncompressed video signal (4) is passed to a picture processing unit (5). A regenerated picture resembling the display on the mobile telephone is passed to a quality analysis circuit (10), whose output is passed to a result display unit (11).
