The steering play comprises, in a cartridge, a preloaded bearing (3) inserted between outer (2) and inner (4) dishes. The outer dish is supported against the interior wall of a bore in the tube adaptor. There is a sealing joint (7) and an upper collar which has a flange (8a) supported on the joint and a lower section (8b) supported on the inner dish.
