Method of making a hub or a shaft

The manufacturing method has deformation process used for deforming a hub plate (3) to provide a lipped hub (4) with a number of inwards projecting sections (41-44) around its inner periphery for engaging the outer periphery of an inserted shaft, or a shaft with a number of outwards projecting sections around its outer periphery for engaging the inner periphery of a reception hub. The projecting sections of the shaft hub or the shaft have a constant radial increment in the peripheral direction. An Independent claim for a method of joining 2 components is also included.
