PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard radio receiver capable of providing excellent sound quality in switching between an FM broadcast program and a satellite radio broadcast program. SOLUTION: The onboard radio receiver includes: an FM broadcast tuner 12 connected to an antenna 11; a satellite radio broadcast tuner 22 connected to an antenna 21; a selector circuit 30 for selecting a sound signal of either of the tuners 12, 22; and electronic volume circuit 40 provided with a loudness function 41 for emphasizing a low register; a power amplifier 50 and a loudspeaker 60 for amplifying the sound signal and outputting the sound; and a controller 70 with an operation unit 80 connected thereto. The operation unit 80 selects the sound output of either of the tuners 12, 22, when an FM broadcast program is selected, the controller 70 commands the electronic volume circuit 40 to deactivate the loudness function 41, resulting in outputting a sound of the FM broadcast program whose low register is not emphasized, when a satellite radio broadcast program is selected, the controller 70 commands the electronic volume circuit 40 to activate the loudness function 41, resulting in outputting a sound of the satellite broadcast program whose low register is emphasized.
