PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive photographing apparatus capable of automatically directing a camera in a direction wherein an object such as a person or an animal exists. SOLUTION: Acoustoelectric transducers 16a to 16e comprising a plurality of microphones are distributingly placed and a discrimination means 15a discriminates the direction of a sound source on the basis of outputs from the acoustoelectric transducers 16a to 16e. For example, using a drive means comprising a turning base 12 and a drive unit 14 for turning it moves at least part of a camera 13 in a direction of photographing the direction of the sound source denoted by an output of the discrimination means 15a.
