PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and highly stable optical receptacle and an optical communication connector using the same. SOLUTION: The optical receptacle 20 is equipped with a guide member 21 which positions a ferrule 10 in the radial direction and a spring 22 which imparts a force in the inserting direction while engaged with the ferrule 10. The spring 22 is fixed to the guide member 21. The optical communication connector 1 is provided with this optical receptacle 20 and the ferrule 10. The ferrule 10 has a flange 12 formed expanding outward, while the flange 12 has a plurality of grooves 13 formed. The width of the spring 22 is formed wider than that of the grooves 13, with the grooves 13 covered by the spring 22, and the spring and the grooves are engaged with each other when the ferrule and the optical receptacle are combined together.
